Tool(s): Area Calculation, Application + Finishing Surfaces + Room - parameters
DIN277 2005-02 valid from February 1, 2005
The new DIN 277 came into effect on February 1, 2005.
Compared with DIN 277-1:1987-06, you can find the following changes:
- ”Functional area (FA)” is renamed ”working area (WA)”.
- Areas under slopes up to/exceeding 1.50 m are no longer calculated separately.
- “Usable area" (UA) is no longer broken down into "usable floor area" (UFA) and "secondary usable area" (SUA). Both terms are combined into "usable area" (UA).
- Usable areas (UA) can be defined more precisely by occupancy groups: 1 (living and recreation), 2 (office work), 3 (production, manual and machine work, experiments), 4 (storing, distributing and selling), 5 (education, training and culture), 6 (nursing) and 7 (other usable areas). UFA 1-6 in DIN277 1987-06 is equivalent to UA 1-6; SUA is equivalent to UA 7.
