Using the building structure, you generate views and sections in the drawing files provided. Using the tools in the Sections task area, you generate a view ( Create View tool) or a section ( Create Section tool) in the current drawing file or you save the view or section in a drawing file of your choice. Regardless of the option you choose, you can always decide between views and sections that update automatically and ‘normal’ views and sections. To do this, you use the Update automatically option.

If the 3D models of the individual elements are not in the current drawing file, the program links the drawing files of views and sections that update automatically.

Copy and move (using the Copy, Move Elements between Documents tool)	You can copy or move the entire view or section to another drawing file within a project. In doing so, you cannot select drawing files loaded internally as target drawing files.	You can copy or move the entire view or section or individual 2D elements (line, fill) to any other drawing file within a project.
Clipboard using Copy and Paste to Original Position	Select the entire view or section in the current drawing file and click Copy. Close the drawing file with the view or section and make the other drawing file current. Use Paste to Original Position to place the view or section. You can also select drawing files loaded internally as target drawing files.	You can copy the entire view or section or individual 2D elements (line, fill) to any other drawing file within a project.
Copy and move using ProjectPilot: The program chooses the numbers of the target drawing files in accordance with those of the source drawing files. To prevent data loss, Allplan checks whether copying or moving will affect drawing files that are in use.	If you copy or move all linked drawing files (for example, the view and the floor plan), Allplan will create new links between the new drawing files. If you only copy or move the selected drawing file, Allplan does the following: When copying within the project, Allplan creates another link to the existing drawing files. When copying or moving data between projects, the links will be lost. As a result, drawing files that include nothing else but views and sections will be empty afterwards.	You can copy or move the drawing file with the entire view or section both within a project and between projects.
