Modify Edge Offset

Task area 3D Objects

You can use this tool to change two or more edges of a polygonal 3D solid or 3D surface by entering an offset. The edges must lie in the same plane.

To change the edges of a 3D solid or 3D surface by entering an offset value

1. Click Modify Edge Offset (How).
   

   Activate Modify Edge Offset in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Draft Task Modeling Task area 3D Objects

   • Menu bar: Create Bonus Tools 3D Modeling

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   3D Modeling

2. Select the solid or surface whose edges you want to modify.
3. Select at least two edges that are in the same plane.

   Allplan displays the edges in construction line color.

   B Four edges selected

4. Right-click to confirm your settings.
5. Define the type of shaping in the input options:
   • Linear deformation
   • Curved deformation
6. Define the offset in one of the following ways:
   • Enter the offset at the keyboard.
     A positive value is applied outward; a negative one inward.
   • Enter the offset values in the x-direction, y-direction and z-direction.
   • Define the offset by clicking a point.

     Allplan draws the resulting solid or surface.
