Defining a new pattern

Pattern defaults

To define a new pattern

  1. Click Select Pattern (How).
  2. In the dialog box, click a pattern that has not been defined yet. This is evident when an empty border is displayed instead of a preview of the pattern.

Tip: You can also define a new pattern based on an existing one. To do this, copy the defined pattern to an empty pattern number using the Copy Pattern (How) tool.

Tip: You can also copy patterns in ProjectPilot (File menu). This is useful if you want to copy a number of patterns in one go.

  3. You can use the editing frame to edit the pattern. To do this, you can use the tools in the palette and numerous tools you can find in the Design task, the Text task area and the fixed task areas. The frame contains a grid of dots to help you.

Note: When defining patterns, you can also use tools in the Text task area. To enhance performance, Allplan breaks down text into polylines and normal lines when you finish the Pattern definition. Therefore, text cannot be modified as text at a later stage.

  4. Click Save Pattern (How).
