You can use this tool to modify the parameters (attributes) of all the instances of a smart fixture symbol.

To modify the parameters (attributes) of all the instances of a fixture

Element name

You can enter a name for the fixture with 32 characters maximum. When you save the fixture, the system proposes this name.
You can use the Modify Parameters tool to assign or change this name later.

Instead of the element name, the name of the catalog entry is used to link a fixture with the fixture catalog of the Precast Elements role. You can select this name by clicking the Catalog... button. However, this requires a special license for Allplan Precast.

Texts

You can define up to five prompts, which need to be answered when it comes to placing the fixture. If you do not check the box beside a prompt, the program automatically uses the default value for this prompt.

In addition, you can assign a plan text, which is created after the fixture has been placed. You can position this text as you need. Plan text can also include placeholders (for example, $P1, $P2 and so on), which will then be replaced by the relevant answer.

You can use the Dim. string index box to specify the dimension line you want to use to dimension the fixture in associative views and sections (if the Overlapping option is selected).

The variables V6 to V9 can be analyzed in the individual schedules.

1. Click Modify Smart Fixture Symbol's Attributes (How).
   

   Activate Modify Smart Fixture Symbol's Attributes in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Draft Task User-Defined Objects Task area Fixtures

   • Menu bar: Change Bonus Tools Fixtures

   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

   Fixtures

2. In the input options, specify whether you want to modify the parameters of an entire group or parts thereof.
3. Click the placed fixture or fixture group or the part of the fixture group whose parameters you want to modify.
4. Modify the parameters as you need:
   • Modify the name of the fixture.
   • Modify the prompt text.
   • Modify the variables V6 to V9 (for subsequent analyses using lists and schedules).
   • Modify the plan text.
   • Modify the value in the Dim. string index box. The program takes this value into account when it dimensions precast elements in associative views and sections (if the Overlapping option on the Dimension block tab is activated in the dimension lines parameters). In this case, separate dimension lines are created for fixtures with identical dimension string indices.

     Assigning a fixture to an existing fixture in the external fixture catalog requires a special license for Allplan Precast.

5. Click OK to apply the settings.
6. The program updates the parameters of all the instances of the selected fixture.
