Modify Format Properties in View

Task area Reinforcement Views

You can use this tool to modify the format properties of views or sections.

To modify the format properties of a view

1. Click Modify Format Properties in View (How).
   

   Activate Modify Format Properties in View in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Change Views, Sections, Details Reinforcement Views

   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

   Reinforcement Views

2. In the Mode for Associative Views area, specify whether
   • the modification is to apply to the derived 2D views only or
   • to the associated 3D elements too.
3. Select the type of modification.
   

   Modify Format Properties

   Modifies the format properties of design entities. All modification options for format properties are available.

   Convert 2D entities to construction lines

   Converts 2D entities to construction lines. You can only modify the layer; the format properties of the construction lines are based on the setting in Options - Desktop environment - Display page - Drawing file and NDW window area.

   Convert construction lines to 2D entities

   Converts construction lines to 2D entities. The pen thickness, line type, line color and group/segment format properties are active by default. The next available number is preset.

   Change "From layer" for pen, line and color

   Removes or adds the ‘From layer’ format property (only possible for pen thickness, line type and line color):

   • When this check box is selected, the ‘From layer’ format property is added to the element.
   • When this check box is not selected, the ‘From layer’ format property is removed from the element.

   The ‘From layer’ format property only applies to the pen, line and color format properties; all the other modification options for format properties are not available.

4. Select the check boxes beside the properties you want to modify and click OK to confirm.

   Note: You can use to match the properties of an existing element.

5. Select the elements whose format properties you want to modify.
   
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a selection rectangle, hold down the left mouse button and open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select.
   • Some tools allow you to select all elements in the current document by clicking All in the input options or pressing CTRL+A.

   When selecting elements, you can use filters, which allow you to filter by element type or property. For more information, see Using filters.

Note: When you have selected the entire view or section, the format properties of the dimensions also change.
