Outputting print files on a computer where Allplan is not installed

To output a print file on a computer where Allplan is not installed

  1. Click Start at the bottom on the left. If you are running Windows 8/7/Vista, point to Settings and click Control Panel. If you are running Windows 10, point to All apps - Windows System and click Control Panel. Then click Devices and Printers.
  2. To find the port of the local printer, right-click the printer, select Printer properties on the shortcut menu or Properties and open the Ports tab.
  3. Go to the command prompt. To do this in Windows, click Start, point to Programs, Accessories and click Command Prompt.
  4. Type copy_/b_<filename>_<port>, e.g.:

    copy_/b_C:\Print\Test01.prn_LPT1 (_ = blank space)

Tip: LPT1 indicates the port. Test01.prn is an example of a name for the print file.
    Pay attention to blanks!

Note: If the printer is connected to a computer on the network, you can enter the UNC name instead of the port (LPT1).
Enter the name of the computer to which the printer is connected using capital letters (e.g. COMPUTER). Then enter the printer’s share name (e.g. printer).

copy_/b_C:\Print\Test01.prn_\\COMPUTER\Printer (_ = blank space)
