Curve Dimensioning

Task area Dimension

You can use this tool to dimension circles, segments of circles, curved walls, clothoids and splines. You can dimension the arc length, the included angle (only with circles) and the radius in defined points.

To dimension circles, segments of circles, curved walls, clothoids and splines

1. Click Curve Dimensioning (How).
   

   Activate Curve Dimensioning in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Draft Task Label Task area Dimension

   • Menu bar: Create Dimension Lines

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Dimension Lines

2. If you want, you can now modify the dimension line's parameters.
   The context toolbar provides several options.
   

   • Click Properties to set the parameters in a dialog box.
   • Click Match properties to copy the settings from an existing element.
3. Click the element you want to dimension.
4. Depending on what you want to dimension, click Radius, Angle or Arc in the input options.
5. Place the dimension line.
6. Click the points you want to dimension one after the other.

   Tip: To ensure accurate dimensioning, you should only click genuine points. No acoustic signal is emitted when you click a genuine point.

7. Press ESC to finish entering the dimension line.
