Update, Modify Blanking

Task area Work Environment + Site Plan

You can use this tool to update or modify the blanking of lines, pattern lines, splines and clothoids around point symbols.
The point symbols or lines connecting the point symbols assume the setting set in Blanking on/off.

This tool offers two options:

• Modify: Use this to modify the blanking of selected elements. The blanking is removed from elements to which blanking has already been applied, and vice versa.
• Update: Use this to update the length of elements with blanking after you have changed the size of point symbols, for example.

To modify the blanking of lines, pattern lines, splines and clothoids

1. Click Update, Modify Blanking (How).
   

   Activate Update, Modify Blanking in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Task area Work Environment
   • Actionbar:Role Surroundings Task Landscaping Task area Site Plan

   • Menu bar: Change Advanced Draft

   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

   Advanced Draft

   Site Plan

2. Click Modify individual blanking in the dialog box.
3. Select the lines, pattern lines, splines and clothoids of which you want to modify the blanking.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a selection rectangle, hold down the left mouse button and open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select.
   • Some tools allow you to select all elements in the current document by clicking All in the input options or pressing CTRL+A.

   When selecting elements, you can use filters, which allow you to filter by element type or property. For more information, see Using filters.

To update the blanking of lines, pattern lines, splines and clothoids

1. Click Update, Modify Blanking (How).
2. Click Update blanking in its entirety in the dialog box.
   

Note: You should only apply blanking to point symbols that have been assigned a fixed radius. These are generally points with circular symbols.
