Using pattern lines

You can use this tool to change the parameters of existing pattern lines.

Tip: You can change the parameters of an existing pattern line in the Properties palette too.

Note: You can also use this tool to convert any element to pattern lines. For example, you can use Filter by Pattern Line Property to exclude elements from this operation.

To modify the parameters of existing pattern lines

1. Click Modify Pattern Lines (How).
   

   Activate Modify Pattern Line in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Draft

   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   Draft

2. Select the pattern lines whose parameters you want to modify or the elements which you want to convert to pattern lines.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a selection rectangle, hold down the left mouse button and open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select.
   • Some tools allow you to select all elements in the current document by clicking All in the input options or pressing CTRL+A.

   When selecting elements, you can use filters, which allow you to filter by element type or property. For more information, see Using filters.

3. Select a different pattern line or change the parameters of the pattern line.
