Task area Change

You can use this tool to merge parts of hatching, patterns, fills, bitmap areas, style areas or architectural components (wall, column, slab, beam, upstand, room, net story, floor or ceiling) to form a single element.

You can only merge the same elements, e.g. fill with fill or wall with wall. The first element you click defines the properties of the new element.

Note: Only two architectural elements can be merged. In the case of 2D elements, you can merge multiple elements.

Note: In the case of linear components (for example, walls, beams, strip foundations), the sides of the components you want to merge must form a straight line.

To merge parts of hatching, patterns, fills, bitmap areas, style areas or architectural elements to form a single element

1. Click Merge Surface Elements, Archit. Elements (How).
   

   Activate Merge Surface Elements, Archit. Elements in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Change task area

   • Menu bar: Change Draft

   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

   Draft

   Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

   Special: Walls, Openings, Components

   Rooms, Surfaces, Stories

   Landscaping

   Urban Planning

   Attributes

2. Click the first element.

   The properties of this element will be used for the new element.

3. Select the element(s) you want to merge with the first one. This depends on the element type.

   For architectural elements:

   • Click the second element.
     The elements are merged immediately.

     For 2D elements such as hatching, patterns, fills, bitmap areas or style areas:

   • Click more elements or open a selection rectangle.
   • Right-click to confirm.
