Tool(s): Bar Shape + Mesh Shape
You can define the following parameters in the Geometry area. The parameters that are actually available to you vary depending on the selected bending shape and reinforcement type.
Same concrete cover
When you select this check box, the program applies the same concrete cover to all the edges. In this case, you only need to enter the concrete cover once.
When this check box is not selected, you can define the concrete cover separately for each edge (four entries maximum). You can see the position of each concrete cover in the graphics. There you can also click a bar and define the value.
Segment / Bending position
After you have defined the first bar/mesh segment of a freeform bending shape, you can create a specific bending shape of the bar/mesh by specifying the segment type or bending type. You can also do this in the graphics area.
You can enter the Bending angle for bend, the Crank value for crank and the Loop diameter for loop.
After you have entered the segment type or bending type specified, the program automatically switches back to the standard segment with bending pin. The exact bend and crank dimensions are not defined until you press ESC to finish entering the geometry.
As opposed to all the other parameters, you cannot change the segment type later. However, you can change the bending type while entering the bending shape.
You cannot specify a loop for the mesh shape.
Initial segment / Final segment
Overlap length / Segment length / Anchorage length
Enter a value or have it calculated automatically.
When you enter "?" for the segment length, the length is taken from the relevant edge when you enter the geometry of the bending shape.
Hook / Hook at start / Hook at end
You can apply hooks to some bending shapes. When this check box is selected, a hook is created and you can define additional parameters.
Hook angle at start / end
Select a value in the list box or enter any value. These angles are always entered in degrees [°], regardless of the unit of angle set.
You can make special settings for stirrups:
Compliant: hooks for closed stirrups are created in the direction of the two adjacent bar segments; hooks for open stirrups are created in the direction of the adjacent edge. After you have created the bending shape, the actual value of the angle is displayed.
Angle bisector: the angle of hooks for closed stirrups is obtained from the angle bisector between the two adjacent bar segments; the angle of hooks for open stirrups is obtained from the angle bisector between the bar segment and the adjacent edge. After you have created the bending shape, the actual value of the angle is displayed.
Hook length at start / end
Enter a value for the hook length. The program automatically enters the default value when you change the diameter or mesh type.
Welding length
Enter the overlap length for the Welded bar bending shape. This is the length along which the stirrup is welded, forming a friction-type connection. By default, the Welding length is equivalent to the diameter. Although the schema displays the welding length, the label only includes the length and width of the stirrup. When calculating the total length of the stirrup, the program takes the welding length into account.
Bending pin factor / Bending pin
You can enter any value or select a value in the list box. The list box, which is only available for the Bending pin factor, contains all default values of the standard set in the options.
Please note that changing the bending pin factor or bending pin also applies to all bending positions of a freeform bending shape with a fillet, arc or loop. You cannot use Modify Bending Pin to change the bending pin factor later.
The setting of the Bending pin option (in the OptionsReinforcement, Representation) specifies how standard bending radii are displayed. You can use the Modify Bar Display Mode tool to modify this later.
When you use a bending pin diameter that is not in accordance with the standard, the bending shape always appears smooth. You cannot change it to angular.
For the mesh shape, the default value, which depends on the standard set, is displayed for information.
Overlap / Anchorage
You can specify the position of overlap for torsion stirrups or the position of anchorage for straight bars/meshes.
