Show Clipping Path

Task area Reinforcement Views

You can use this tool to display the section object of a section with or without clipping path in a view, section or in 3D elements. You can use this tool to check which elements will be included in the section.

To display the section object with or without the clipping path

• Use the Modify View and Section Properties tool to select the section object which you want to display with or without the clipping path in a different view or section or within the 3D elements.

1. Click Show Clipping Path (How).
   

   Activate Show Clipping Path in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Views, Sections, Details Reinforcement Views

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Reinforcement Views

2. Click the section object you want to display with or without the clipping path.
3. To control how the clipping path looks, click Show Clipping Path on the context toolbar and define parameters in the Section dialog box.

   Note: The program only uses the section identifier defined in the Section dialog box if there is no section identifier. The settings in the Section object area have no effect; the section object is always visible.

4. Click the view or section in which you want to display the section object with or without the clipping path. To display the clipping path in the 3D model, click the section object there.
   If the viewing direction of the view or section clicked is perpendicular to the plane of the clipping path, the program cannot create a clipping path.

Notes:

• You can also show the section object in sections using the Add to View tool.
• To hide the section object in individual views and sections, use the Remove from View tool. This also removes the clipping path.
• You can use the Delete tool to remove the clipping path from individual views, sections or 3D elements.
