Hidden line image in target document

Tool(s): Hidden Line Image, Wireframe

You can use this tool to save the view of a 3D model displayed in perspective on screen as a 2D image on a separate document. You can hide hidden edges.

To create a hidden line image

  1. Click Hidden Line Image, Wireframe (How).
  2. Click Hidden Line Image.
  3. The Hidden Line Image in Target Document palette opens. Set the parameters for the hidden line image and click OK to confirm.

Allplan displays the resulting hidden line image in a separate window.

  4. To save the result, close this window and select the drawing file or the NDW file (depending on whether you have selected the tool from a drawing file or an NDW file) where you want to save the hidden line image or wireframe model.
You can also save the result of a drawing files as an NDW file by clicking Save As... on the File menu. However, you cannot use Update Hidden Line Image to update this result.

Tip: If you then switch to the target file and it appears empty, it is probably because the data are 2D and your viewport is set for a different view. Either switch to plan view or select the Plan element in view option in Show/Hide.

Note: To quickly see your design as a hidden line image, select the Hidden line image view type at the bottom of the viewport.
