Edge reinforcement

You can use the Edge Reinforcement tool to place several meshes along an edge line while taking the edge reinforcement length into account. As the meshes are associated with the placing polygon, any changes you make to the geometric outline of the polygon or to the settings are reflected in the corresponding meshes.

To place meshes along an edge line

1. Click Edge Reinforcement (How).

2. If you work in Reinforce with 3D model mode, you need to select an existing view to which you want to add edge reinforcement.

   Note: If there are no views, you cannot create edge reinforcement.

3. Enter the edge area or click Match in the input options to use an existing edge area.
4. Modify the edge area using the tools provided on the context toolbar and define the location of the placement in space so as to establish the relationship (offset) between the defined spatial plane and the placement (with Reinforce with 3D model only).
5. Click OK to confirm the settings.
6. Select the mesh type to be placed:
   • Click Mesh type to select a defined mesh type in the list or
   • Enter the mesh identifier manually or
   • Click Match to match the settings of a reinforcing steel mesh you have already placed.
7. Enter the parameters on the Edge Reinforcement Context toolbar.
8. Click OK to confirm. The individual meshes of the edge reinforcement are placed.
