Display parameters of smart fixture symbols

Type

This is where you specify the view type of the foil, which defines the view in which the foil is displayed. For 2D, you have six options, which represent the orthogonal viewing directions. There is one type for 3D.

Note: Non-orthogonal views of the fixture are derived from the 3D object.

In addition to the view types, you can define foils for dimensioning and linking (that is, assigning the fixture to a precast element). The points for dimensioning and the point for linking must be 3D point symbols. You can create these point symbols using the Terrain Point tool (How).

Activate Terrain Point in one of the following ways

• If points are defined for dimensioning, they are used for dimensioning views (for example, in element plans). Otherwise, the reference point of the fixture is dimensioned.
• If a point is defined for linking, the fixture is linked with the precast element in which you can find this point after you have placed the fixture. The fixture is then assigned to this precast element in element plans or subsequent analyses.
  If such a point is not defined, linking is based on the center of gravity of the fixture. If the center of gravity is not within a precast element, the program checks the geometry of the enclosing min-max box of the 3D fixture.

This is where you define the scale range within which the foil is displayed.

Note: Set the reference scale for the smart fixture symbol so that it is within the validity range.
