3D polygon surface perpendicular to edge or curve

Tool(s): 3D Surface

To draw a 3D polygon surface that is centered on and perpendicular to an edge or curve

1. Click 3D Surface (How).
   

   Activate 3D Surface in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Draft Task Modeling Task area 3D Objects

   • Menu bar: Create Bonus Tools 3D Modeling

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   3D Modeling

2. The 3D Line Context toolbar opens. Click 3D Polygon Surface.

   Tip: Click Back to undo as many steps as you want.

3. Select Polygon based on center on edge or curve in the Input Options.
4. Select the edge or curve for the center.

   A preview of the polygon is attached to the crosshairs.

5. Define the center of the polygon on the edge or curve.
6. Enter the number of corners in the dialog line and press ENTER to confirm.
7. Define the point or edge of the polygon in one of the following ways:
   • Click an edge point of the polygon.
   • Enter the outside radius or the corner radius of the polygon.

     Allplan draws the 3D polygon surface in the center so that the surface is perpendicular to the edge or curve.
