Section Along Curve

You can use this tool to create a section along any 2D element.
To create a section along a curve
- There is a 2D element in plan. Now you want to create a section along this element.
If this element consists of several 2D lines, you created these lines as a polyline or combined them using
Combine Lines to Make Polylines. Any other connected 2D elements you want to use as a common clipping line are a
Composite Element.
- Click
Section Along Curve (How). - You can define the parameters in the Section Along Curve palette.
- Click the 2D element for the clipping path in plan and select the viewing direction by clicking in the workspace.
The Clipping path area in the palette expands, displaying more input options.
- Click
Match element for clipping path to use a different 2D element for the clipping path. - Change the Start and End of the clipping path to display an area of the section.
As the program saves the entire bearer element as the clipping line, you can change the area you want to display at any time. - Click
Change viewing direction to change the viewing direction.
- Define the other parameters of the section as you need in the palette.
Any changes are immediately visible in the preview. - Place the section in the workspace.
- Create more sections or press ESC to quit the tool.
Note: You can use
Match parameters to match the parameters of a different section. You can use
Save as a favorite to save the settings. With
Load favorite, you can read the settings back into the palette, where you can then modify them.
