Importing SMT files

Program: Allplan 2020

SMT files contain individual Allplan SmartParts.

To import SMT files

1. Download the file.
2. Decompress the file and save it in any folder on your computer.

   Tip: It makes sense to use the same folder for data of the same format.

3. Start Allplan 2020.
4. Click Insert SmartPart.
5. Select the folder and the file in SMT format and click Open.

   The SmartPart is attached to the crosshairs.

   Tip: You can also drag the file from Windows Explorer into the workspace.

6. Click in the workspace to place the SmartPart.
   The Input Options provide a number of tools you can use to place the element.

   You can use the palette or the handles to change the properties of SmartParts. If the format properties are not defined in the SmartPart itself, Allplan uses the settings defined in the Properties palette.

7. Press ESC to finish.

   A copy of the SmartPart you selected last is attached to the crosshairs.

8. Place more SmartParts or press ESC to quit the tool.

   Note: Double-click a SmartPart or select Properties on the shortcut menu to modify existing SmartParts using dialog boxes and handles.

Saving and exporting SMT files

You can use Create SmartPart to open the SmartPart Editor, where you can create and modify SmartParts using scripts.

You can use Save SmartPart in the SmartPart Editor to save SmartParts as in *.smt-format files.
