Corrupt architectural elements

What if the following problems occur?

• You cannot create (architectural) elements.
• You cannot move drawings.
• Elements are corrupt.
• You cannot import DXF files you were given by the land-registry office.

Possible reasons:

• The elements are too far from the global point.
  

  The global point is the origin of the CAD system and it has the following coordinates: 0,0,0. You should always design near the global point as otherwise problems may arise in the case of large coordinates.

• The system has problems calculating and displaying data with very large coordinates (for example, x-coordinate, y-coordinate or z-coordinate greater than 500 m). The more elements you have with very large coordinates, the greater this effect.

In this case, move the elements towards the global point.

To check the coordinates of an element

1. Click Measure (How).
   

   Activate Measure in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Task area Measure

   • Menu bar: Tools

   • Keyboard: CTRL+ALT+M

   • Toolbar: Default
2. Click Coordinates.
3. Click within the element whose coordinates you want to measure.

   The following values are displayed:

   • X-coordinate
   • Y-coordinate
   • Z-coordinate

     If the x-coordinate, y-coordinate or z-coordinate is greater than 500 m, you have found the reason for the problem.
