Span Reinforcement

Task area Meshes

You can use this tool to place several meshes within a placing polygon. Recesses can be taken into account. As the meshes are linked with the placing polygon, any changes you make to the geometric outline of the polygon or to the settings are reflected in the corresponding meshes.

To place meshes by span

1. Click Span Reinforcement (How).
   

   Activate Span Reinforcement in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Engineering Task Reinforcement Task area Meshes

   • Menu bar: Create Engineering Mesh Reinforcement

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Mesh Reinforcement

2. Enter the shell outline polygon or click Copy in the input options to use an existing shell.
   

   1. Click the first point of the outline polygon in the workspace.
   2. Click the second point of the outline polygon in the workspace.
   3. Click additional points if required.
   4. Close the polygon.

   With every point you enter you can change the support depth manually.

3. If you work in Reinforce with 3D model mode and you have not created the outline polygon in an existing view, you need to select an existing view to which you want to add the span reinforcement.

   Note: If views are not defined, you cannot place reinforcement in span.

4. Modify the outline polygon using the tools provided on the context toolbar and define the location of the placement in space so as to establish the relationship (distance) between the defined spatial plane and the placement (in Reinforce with 3D model mode only).
5. Click OK to confirm the settings.
6. Select the mesh type to be placed:
   • Click Mesh type to select a defined mesh type in the list or
   • Enter the mesh identifier manually or
   • Click Match to match the settings of a reinforcing steel mesh you have already placed.
7. Enter theparameters for the meshes on the Span Reinforcement Context toolbar.
8. Click OK to confirm. This places the meshes.
