Entering and planning plants and trees

Tool(s): Planning and Planting

You can use the Planning and Planting tool to place plants of any kind in layouts. You can specify whether you want to plant, clear or retain these plants. Plants are represented by symbols from the drawing symbol regulations.

Note: In any case, use smart symbols from the following path: Default - 2D objects - Plants - To retain, To clear and To plant; other plants will not be displayed in the associated legend.

To plan plants and trees

1. Click Planning and Planting (How).
   

   Activate Planning and Planting in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Surroundings Task Landscaping Task area Plant Objects, Path Areas

   • Menu bar: Create Terrain Landscaping

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Landscaping

2. Click Part.
3. The Library palette opens. Select Default - 2D objects - Plants - placing type (To retain, To clear or To plant). Select the smart symbol you want to use (Tree, Shrub or Other).
   

   Symbols

   

   (A) to be retained
   (B) to be cleared
   (C) to be planted
   (1) tree
   (2) shrub
   (3) other plant

4. Specify the parameters for the plants and trees.
5. Place the plant symbol.
6. Press ESC to select other plant symbols.
7. Repeat steps 3 through 5 to place more plant symbols.
8. Press ESC to quit the tool.

Note: You can modify the shape of plant symbols using Model Spline (How).

Activate Model Spline in one of the following ways

• Menu bar: Modify Advanced Draft

• Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):
