Smart Window Sill Symbol

Task area Components

You can use this tool to insert inner or outer smart window sill symbols in window openings with horizontal bottom levels.
This tool works just like the Smart Window and Door Symbols tool.

Note: The bottom level of a window opening must be horizontal if you want to insert a smart window sill symbol.

To insert a smart window sill symbol in a window opening

1. Click Smart Window Sill Symbol (How).
   

   Activate Smart Window Sill Symbol in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Architecture Task Elements Task area Components

   • Menu bar: Create Architecture Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

2. Click in the opening for which a smart window sill symbol is to be designed.

   The opening’s parameters are copied.

3. Enter the parameters as required in the Smart Window Sill Symbol dialog box.
4. When the smart symbol is complete, click OK to confirm your entries.

   This inserts the smart symbol in the opening.

5. Click Attrib in the input options to assign attributes to the smart symbol.
   

   You have the following options:

   • Click Window objects or Door objects to open the Window objects or Door objects attribute form, which comes with Allplan. Using this form, you can enter attributes such as position, material of frame, frame type, door leaf, price and so on.
   • You can assign the user-defined attributes Text 1 to Text 5, the variables V6 to V9 and other attributes to the smart symbol.
   • Using Object attributes, you can enter the attributes as you would in the Attributes task area.
6. Click Label in the input options to place a label for the smart symbol.
   This tool works just like the Label tool.
7. You can set a new reference point for the smart symbol to define the position of the window sill within the opening. Click a side of the window. Once you have found the correct position, right-click to confirm.
8. If you want, you can save the new smart symbol in the smart symbol library. The appropriate dialog box is displayed automatically. Select the desired path and enter a name for the smart symbol in the dialog line.
9. Repeat steps 2 to 9 to draw more smart symbols. Otherwise, press ESC to quit the tool.

Tip: Using the various options provided in Window, you can now insert window openings and several smart symbols such as windows, interior or exterior window sills, and roller blind housing in walls in a single step.
