Rotate 3D Elements

Task area Edit + 3D Objects

You can use this tool to rotate 3D elements in space by specifying the axis and angle of rotation. You can also use the Rotate tool (with the Freely in 3D option).

To rotate 3D elements in space

1. Select the tool in one of the following ways:
   • Click Rotate 3D Elements (How).
     

     Activate Rotate 3D Elements in one of the following ways

     • Actionbar:Task area Edit
     • Actionbar:Role Draft Task Modeling Task area 3D Objects

     • Menu bar: Change Bonus Tools 3D Modeling

     • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

     3D Modeling

   • Click Rotate (How) and select Freely in 3D in the input options.
     

     Activate Rotate in one of the following ways

     • Actionbar:Task area Edit

     • Menu bar: Edit

     • Keyboard: SHIFT+CTRL+D
2. Select the elements you want to rotate.
3. Set the first point of the axis of rotation.
4. Set the second point of the axis of rotation.
5. Rotate the elements in one of the following ways:
   • Enter a starting point and direction point.
   • Enter an angle (a positive angle leads to counter-clockwise rotation).
