Rectangle

Task area 2D Objects

You can use this tool to draw a rectangle as a polyline or based on individual lines. You can create the rectangle in four different ways: by entering two diagonally opposite points, base line and height, center line and height, or center and a corner.

To draw a rectangle

  1. Click Rectangle (How).
  2. If Create rectangle as a polyline is selected in the input options, Allplan creates the rectangle as one connected element that can be selected as a single entity with one mouse click. If is not selected, the rectangle consists of individual lines that you can select separately by clicking or as an entity group by pressing the SHIFT key while clicking.
  3. You can apply symbols to the start point and end point of the rectangle or draw the rectangle as a pattern line.

Note: When you draw a rectangle as a polyline, Allplan places the start symbol on the start point of the rectangle and the end symbol on the end point of the rectangle, which coincides with the start point. When you draw a rectangle that consists of individual lines, each line gets a start symbol and an end symbol. Therefore, it is advisable to select either the start symbol or the end symbol.

  4. Use the input options to specify how you want to create the rectangle:

Note: To draw a rectangle at an angle, change the System Angle (How).
