HRC elements for connections and anchorage
Tools: Coupler, Thread, Connecting Bar
The following elements are currently available in the article catalog. The elements that are actually available to you depend on the product range selected (Europe, Canada or US). With the exception of the elements of the HRC 670 series, all products are manufactured by a friction-forging process and delivered as finished reinforcing elements to the construction site. For production, you must always specify the length of the reinforcing bar including the HRC element.
- Standard couplers of the HRC 400 series are designed to connect bars of the same diameter if the connecting bar is free to move lengthwise and can be turned freely. The HRC 420/410 combination is used.
- Position couplers of the HRC 400 series are designed to connect bars of the same diameter if the connecting bar is not free to move lengthwise or cannot be turned freely (bent bars; straight bars already encased in concrete and so on). The HRC 490/410 combination is used.
- T-headed bars of the HRC 100 series ensure a zero-slip connection between head and bar that exceeds the actual tensile strength of the reinforcement bar. A square head or round head is used for anchorage. The product range for Europe also includes the HRC 220 elements of the HRC 200 series.
Note: The heads might be rotated to each other (with rebar as rotation axis). If the position of the heads is important, select one or two circular T-heads (HRC 150) to control positions of both heads. - Steel-concrete fixing of the HRC 700 series is designed to connect steel parts to concrete structures. The system consists of threaded components, which are attached to reinforcing steel bars. You can choose between HRC 710 bolts and HRC 720 sleeves. You can find these elements only in the product range for Europe.
- T-heads of the HRC 670 series are used for end anchorage with primary applications for retrofits and field fixes. T-heads are delivered without reinforcing bars to the construction site and installed there. You can find these elements only in the product range for the US.
- Headed rebar of the HRC 555 series is a deformed or plain steel bar with a head attached to one or both ends. HRC 555 reduces anchorage length, congestion, and construction time while providing superior performance. HRC 555 is an alternative to standard hooks throughout the concrete structure, from pile anchorage to beam/column joints. These elements are very effective for closure pours. You can find these elements only in the product range for the US.
Note: It is the user who selects the element. The program does not check whether the selected element can be used with the existing bending shapes. For example, you will not be informed if you select a an HRC 420 element for a bar that cannot be turned.
