Translating a SmartParts Object

The strings and names of surfaces of a SmartPart can be localized, they inherit the language in which Allplan has been started. The strings are stored in a string table. This string table can be translated by two methods:

• Translate in SmartParts Script Editor
• Translate with an external editor

To translate a SmartPart

1. Open the SmartParts Script Editor and select the Resources tab.
2. Click Refresh String Table, to create the string table with the source language.

   The source language is either the current Allplan language (if this language is already existing in the SmartPart) or the language in which the SmartPart has been created.

3. Choose the language to which the strings should be translated and click Add Language.

4. Translate the strings in SmartParts Script Editor, by simply clicking on an entry and entering the translated text.

   Or:

   Translate the string table in an external editor.

   Note: Each string must be unique within the language page, so it is not possible to use the same translation for 2 different source strings.

5. Click Save SmartPart to save the translated SmartPart as a file.
