Note: Setup only presents the options that can be installed on your computer.
First-time installation
Allplan 2019 will be installed to a new folder. This has no effect on any existing installations of Allplan (2018 or earlier). Setup does not transfer any data or settings to the new installation.
The following options are provided for transferring data later:
First-time installation and copy data from version
Allplan 2019 will be installed to a new folder. This has no effect on any existing installations of Allplan (2018 or earlier). The office standard (\std), projects (\prj) and user data (\usr) will automatically be copied from an existing version 2016/2017/2018 to the new installation folder.
This duplicates your database: You can use all the projects, defaults and resources both in Allplan 2019 and in Allplan 2016/2017/2018. This way, you can test the new version without losing your existing Allplan installation.
Bear in mind, though, that you should not mix data from different versions, as merging data later involves considerable effort.
Continue with first-time installation and copy data from version
This option is available when you have already installed Allplan 2019 and copied the data to a different computer that accesses the same data server. As a result, the data have already been transferred.
Update
This updates the existing installation of Allplan 2019; the data stay as they are.
Updating has no effect on existing installations of Allplan (2018 or earlier).
Upgrade and transfer data from version 2016/2017/2018
This installs Allplan 2019 to an existing folder, converting the existing installation of Allplan 2016/2017/2018 to Allplan 2019 and transferring all necessary settings (see Restrictions applying when transferring data). After having upgraded, you can no longer work with Allplan 2016/2017/2018.
Upgrading has no effect on any existing installations that are older than Allplan 2016.
