Parameters for skylights: size of opening and shape of top and bottom levels

Tool(s): Skylight

Reveal

You can use this button to define how to create the edge of the opening at the top and bottom:

perpendicular to roof pitch, horizontal, vertical, profiled

Note: The reveal types that are actually available to you vary depending on the shape of the skylight.

Shape

You can use these buttons to specify the shape of the opening.

Dimensions

You define the window size (width * height) here.

Geometry

If you select a top or bottom level with a profile, you can set the depth of the profile here (depending on the thickness of the window profile to be added).

Note: If a skylight SmartPart or smart window symbol is selected in the Library element area, you can also see the Thickness and the Offset. Thickness indicates the thickness of the library element. You can use Offset to define the position of the library element within the skylight relative to the roof covering.
If you have chosen a skylight SmartPart, you do not need to change anything, as skylight SmartParts automatically adjust to the thickness of the roof covering.

Library element

You can select a skylight SmartPart or smart window symbol.

Tip: To do this, open the Library palette and the Default - Architecture - Skylight folders and select a SmartPart. If the SmartParts provided do not meet your requirements, you can use the Skylight SmartPart tool to create and save your own SmartParts for rectangular skylights.

Note: The parameters you set can be saved as a favorite file and read back into the dialog box.
