Offset 3D polyline

Tool(s): Offset 3D Polyline

To join two parallel polylines consisting of 3D lines

• The two polylines must meet particular conditions.
  

  • The number of lines that make up the polyline you want to join with an (existing) polyline must not exceed the number of lines that make up this (existing) polyline (= the polyline you click first).
  • Each line of the first polyline must match a line of the other polyline. You can define the criterion that is to be fulfilled in the Join based on area.

1. Click Offset 3D Polyline (How).
   

   Activate Offset 3D Polyline in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Draft Task Modeling Task area 3D Objects

   • Menu bar: Create Bonus Tools 3D Modeling

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   3D Modeling

   The Offset 3D Polyline dialog box opens.

2. Go to the Connect based on area and define the criterion for joining the polylines.
3. Click Connect parallel polylines.
4. First click the polyline you want to join.
5. Then click the polyline with which you want to join the first one.

   The program joins the two polylines, taking into account the criterion defined in the Connect based on area.

   Note: The program retains lines that project beyond the connection points; however, those lines are separated at the point of intersection. To delete those projecting lines, you can select them together by clicking.

   Note: If the program does not join the polylines, make sure the polylines meet the conditions mentioned above.
