To place bars polygonally

1. Click Special Placements (How).
   

   Activate Special Placements in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Engineering Task Reinforcement Task area Bar reinforcement

   • Menu bar: Create Engineering Bar Reinforcement

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Bar Reinforcement

2. Select the mark you want to place by clicking a reinforcing bar or a bar placement. Alternatively, enter the mark number in the dialog line.
3. Set the placing mode to Place in Polygon and click OK to confirm.
4. If Reinforce with 3D model is not active, you need to define the view of the bending shape relative to the placing polygon. In order to define the line representing the viewing direction, you can find a number of drawing aids in the input options.
   

   The following drawing aids are provided in the input options to help you define the line for the viewing direction:

   Enter normal lines: draw the line as you want, there are no constraints.

   Enter at right angles: all the lines are drawn at right angles (to the system angle set).

   Enter using cursor snap: draws lines based on a cursor snap angle.

   8 Cursor Snap Angle (3-360): defines the cursor snap angle.

5. Click the first and second point of the clipping line (all bar segments intersected by this line have variable dimensions).
6. Click the corners of the placement polygon.
7. Specify the direction for the benching value and enter a value.
8. Define the view if Reinforce with 3D model is active and there are no views. If the placement is not within a view, select an existing view.

   Note: If there are no suitable views, you cannot create the placement.

9. Specify the mark's position for the placement.
   

   Mark's location

   • Click Align (only available when Reinforce with 3D model is active) to adopt the basic orientation in space of the identified mark and to place the reinforcement in direct alignment.
   • Click Move to use the selected view of the bending shape (when Reinforce with 3D model is not active ) or to use the basic spatial orientation (when Reinforce with 3D model is active) and to place the reinforcement along the placing line.
   • Click Rotated to rotate the bars using the selected placing angle. In addition, you can use the X, P and Y buttons to align the bars so that they are perpendicular to the placing line, or to align them in the x and y direction.
     When Reinforce with 3D model is not active, the adopted view of the bending shape is rotated relative to the placing line.
     When Reinforce with 3D model is active, the adopted spatial orientation is rotated relative to the placing line.
10. Set the parameters presented and click OK to confirm the settings.
11. Select the placing parameters.

    Note: In this placing mode, you cannot switch between series and custom placement. The defined placement region cannot be modified.

12. Click OK to confirm the settings. Allplan creates the placement.
13. Select the dimension line type in the list box at the top of the palette, specify the dimension line parameters for the Dimension line type or the text parameters and format properties of the mark number for the Mark symbols type, define the settings in the input options and place the dimension line or the mark number.

    When the dimension line type is set to Dimension line and you have selected several placements of a mark for a common label, you can create a continuous dimension line even if the placements are set off. All you need to do is select the Align option.
    You can use the Formwork edges option to add the position of the placement within the shell to the dimensions by clicking two points of the shell.

    When the dimension line type is set to Mark symbols, you can use Anchor point to attach a specific point of the mark number preview to the crosshairs. In addition, you can use and to alter the distance between the crosshairs and the anchor point.

    

    For polygonal placements, the index is automatically listed after the mark number. This way, all the bars are assigned correctly to the schema and reinforcement schedules.
    Whether numbers or characters are used for the index depends on the selected design code.

14. Select the Automatic mark number option in the input options if the program is to create the mark number at the beginning or end of the label depending on the drop-in point specified. In addition, define the Anchor point of the label.
15. Specify the label parameters, place the placement label (you can define the text angle in advance) and create the leader manually, if necessary.

16. When you have configured Allplan to create a layer symbol ( Options, Reinforcement - Label page) and you have not yet placed this symbol along with the label, you can now select a Layer symbol in Leader area of the palette and click the drop-in point or a bar segment.
