Important notes on editing XAC files

Export Attributes (How) and Export Quantities Data (How) analyze Allplan documents and export files in XAC format. You can edit XAC files in external programs and reimport the changed data.

Points to bear in mind when editing XAC files:

For example, you can change the trade or material.
You can assign new attributes that have not been assigned in Allplan.
If you add a new column in Microsoft Excel, Allplan will automatically create a new custom attribute after the import. This attribute is then available for further assignments.
To delete attribute values, enter "<delete>" in the cell of the value you want to delete. Simply deleting the cell contents is not enough.
You cannot change geometric attributes in external programs as these attributes are not reimported.

Note: When you export an *.xac file from Allplan to Microsoft Excel, change it there and then import it back into Allplan, you need to save it in *.xac format in Excel. Alternatively, save the file in *.txt format (tab-separated) then rename it *.xac.
Saving the Excel file in a binary format (*.xls or *.xlsx, for example) may cause the formatting of the table to change.

Import Attributes (How) and Import Quantities Data (How) reimport the changed data. The components in the document update accordingly.
