‘Section Along Curve’ palette

Tool(s): Modify Section Along Curve

Filter

You can select the elements you want to display in the section. In addition, you can define whether the section is to update automatically to reflect any changes you make to the palette or 3D model.

Remove/add elements

After having clicked the Remove/add elements icon, you can select the elements you do not want to display in the section. You can click any element in an open drawing file.

When you click the icon again, the elements you filtered out are displayed in the selection color. Click these elements if you want to add them to the section again. You can use the Brackets to select several elements in one go.

Drawing files

You can select the drawing files you want to use for the section. Click the button to open the Select drawing file dialog box, which displays all open drawing files. You can see all drawing files you used for the section, regardless of whether they are open or not.

Layer

You can select the layers you want to use for the section. Click the button to the right to open the Layer filter dialog box, where you can define visibility settings for the layers.

Associative

By selecting this option, you create an associative section. Consequently, the section updates immediately to reflect any changes you make to the palette. This also applies to changes in the 3D model. Here, too, the section updates automatically without you having to select the modification tool. When you create new elements, however, the section will not update until you modify it.

Sections that are not associative get a double border.

Scale

Resizing

By entering factors, you can resize the section in the x-direction or y-direction or in both directions. A factor < 1 reduces the section; a factor > 1 enlarges the section.
Using these settings, you can display the section at a scale that differs from the Reference Scale without having to use detailing windows.

Clipping path

Clipping path

Click Match element for clipping path to use a different 2D element for the clipping path.

Section identifier

Enter the section identifier. Click if you want to delete the section identifier.

Start / End

Change the Start and End of the clipping path to display an area of the section.
As the program saves the entire bearer element as the clipping line, you can change the area you want to display at any time.

Change viewing direction

Click Change viewing direction to change the viewing direction.

Height from elements

The selected elements do not necessarily have to define the top and bottom of the section. If you want to enter different values, clear the Height from elements check box and enter the values you want to use for the Top level and the Bottom level.

Place clipping line, Representation

If you do not want to display the clipping path in plan, deactivate the Place clipping line option. Otherwise, click the Representation button to define how the clipping path looks.

Section

Representation, Formats, Label

Click the buttons to define the Representation, Formats and Label for the section.
