Deleting surfaces

Module(s): 3D Modeling

You can use the Delete Surfaces tool to delete surfaces from 3D solids and general 3D objects.

To delete surfaces

1. Click Delete Surfaces (How).
   

   Activate Delete Surfaces in one of the following ways

   • Actionbar:Role Draft Task Modeling Task area 3D Objects

   • Menu bar: Change Bonus Tools 3D Modeling

   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

   3D Modeling

2. Click the 3D element from which you want to delete a surface.
3. Define the surface to be deleted in one of the following ways:

   Click Select surface in the Input Options.

   • Click within the surface you want to delete.

   Or

   Click Select edges or points in the Input Options.

   • Specify three corners.
   • Specify two edges.
   • Specify an edge and a corner.

     

     (A) 3D element
     (B) 'Tube'
     (C) These surfaces will be deleted

     You will see a message if the volume of the element is no longer closed.

Note: 3D solids and general 3D objects from which you delete surfaces can still be selected as a single entity You can use Delete Surfaces as long as there is only one surface left.
