Defining the layer on which to design
When you open a tool, you can use the Properties palette to quickly select a different layer as the current one.
The layers that are presented for selection in this list box depend on the tool you open. You can add layers to or remove layers from this selection. Up to 40 layers can be assigned to a tool.
To define the layer selection in the Properties palette
- Select the tool for which you want to change the layers presented for selection (for example, line).
- Click
Select, Set Layers (How). - Select the Select Layer/Visibility tab.
- Go to the Contents of list box area and select the List layers assigned to currently selected tool option.
The area on the left displays all the layers that are assigned to the open tool.
- Do the following:
- To remove a layer: Right-click the layer you want to remove and select Remove layer on the shortcut menu.
- To add a layer: Right-click in the area with the layers and select Insert layer on the shortcut menu. A dialog box opens, where you can select the layers you want to add to this tool. Up to 40 layers can be assigned to a tool.
