Defining and using new surfaces

Tool(s): Assign Custom Surfaces to 3D, Archit. Elements

To define and use a new surface

1. Click Assign Custom Surfaces to 3D, Architectural Elements (How).
   

   Activate Assign Custom Surfaces to 3D, Archit. Elements in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Change Bonus Tools 3D Modeling + Change Presentation Animation

   • Toolbar: Change
   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

   Animation

   • Shortcut menu: Navigation Mode selected - Right mouse button

   The Surfaces palette opens.

2. Click New surface.
3. Define the surface properties.
4. Click Save as a favorite and save the new surface as a file in SURF format.
5. Click Back at the top of the palette. This takes you up one level in the hierarchy to the Surfaces palette.

   You can find the new surface in the Surfaces used in project area.

6. You can now use the new surface. In order to assign it to an element, you can simply drag it to the relevant element.
