Project Settings dialog box

The Project Settings dialog box displays information on the selected project and you can change the settings of this project.

How to open the dialog box

Project info

Project name

The name of the project is displayed here.

Prepared online

This is where you can configure the program to prepare a project for online use so that it can be accessed via an FTP server. When you select this option, all resources are set to project-specific and the user rights are copied o the project.

Created on

This shows the creation date of the project.

Free memory

This displays the amount of free disk space on the computer where the selected project resides.

Current project size

This shows how much of the space is used by the selected project.

Assign attributes

You can assign values to the project attributes.

Computer name

With Workgroup Manager: shows the computers where the projects are saved.

Owner

With Workgroup Manager: shows the owner of the project who can be changed by the Allplan administrator.

Authorized users

With Workgroup Manager: the Allplan administrator (sysadm) can define the users who are entitled to work with this project.

Path settings

Project resources

You can specify whether the project is to access the project resources of the office standard or whether project-specific project resources are to be used. If you select Project, a copy of the office standard is created in the project.

Urban planning symbols

You can set the drawing symbol catalog used in the project.

CAD-TAI project assignment

You can set the path to the Allplan BCM data folder and specify the research projects (element catalogs).

Note: To ensure that architectural elements are analyzed correctly, you need to use the element catalogs, which are available for analyses later, when you define the materials of architectural elements.

Settings

Offset coordinates

Offsets are required above all to convert supra-regional country coordinates with high numbers into a local system centered on the WCS origin of the workspace. The offset you set is valid for the current project.

Note: When you output coordinates, the offset is generally added. When you read in coordinates, the offset is subtracted.

Enter the values in the unit of length currently set.

Project angle for rotated plan view

You can enter the angle for the Rotated Plan View. This setting applies to all viewports in the current project (as opposed to Rotated plan view, which applies only to the current viewport). Click Match angle from most recent viewport to take the angle from the most recent viewport.

Input, output currency

This is where you specify the currency for the project. The currency you set is used for the reports that include prices. If you are running Allplan with Workgroup Manager, the currency can only be set by the system administrator, the project owner or authorized users.

• If you are working with a single currency (e.g., with CHF in Switzerland), set the exchange rate once when you create a new project. Avoid constantly changing the exchange rate. Allplan always saves prices internally in euros. If the exchange rate changes and you stay with the selected currency, the amounts calculated and the original amounts will differ.
• If you use this to check the costs in a different currency, for example, then enter the currency exchange rate between the currency and euros.

Currency for current project: select the currency you want to use. You can change the currency's label: we recommend using the ISO code utilized in the banking sector.

Euro rate: you can specify the exchange rate between euros and other currencies (up to ten places before the decimal and four places after the decimal).

Euro converter: you can use this calculator to convert any amount from any currency into euros and vice versa. Just select a currency, enter an amount in the data entry box and press ENTER to confirm.
