Rules for creating walls using 'Create Walls from 2D Plan'
The walls are created based on the following rules:
- Lines that are parallel in the floor plan are converted to
Straight Components. - Lines that are not parallel in the floor plan are converted to
Freeform Walls.
Curved Components and
Spline-Based Components are ignored. - Material selection, attributes and surface elements are assigned based on the settings of the individual wall types (depending on the rules for calculating the wall thickness). The same applies to freeform walls.
- The thickness of straight walls is always the same as the offset between the parallel lines.
- Junction lines at walls prevent the conversion; use
Auto-Delete Segment to delete these lines beforehand. - Lines for windows and doors within a wall are ignored during conversion. You can use the
Door and
Window tools to insert these components in the walls after the conversion.
