Tool(s): Bar Shape + Mesh Shape

Define this bending shape as follows:

1. Specify the start point and end point of the first bar/mesh segment; use the tools in the dialog line and on the shortcut menu
   or
   Match the edges.
   

   When you draw lines and polylines, the following additional drawing aids are provided in the dialog line:
   

   Icon	Function	Use
   	No icon pressed in	The lines can be drawn at any angle. This is the default setting.
   	Enter at right angles	The line can only be drawn at right angles to the current system angle.
   	Cursor snap	The line can only be drawn at specific angles.
   15.00	Cursor snap angle	Define the cursor snap angle here (only possible when is enabled).

   

   • Click the point.
   • Align to points using the linear snap function and click the point.
   • Define the point by making entries in the dialog line.

   Tip: The shortcut menu and dialog line provide tools and options to assist you in the process of entering points. For more information, see Tools and Options.

2. If necessary, select a segment type or bending type in the graphics or parameter area and define the end point of the next bar/mesh segment. The following options are available:
   

   For bar shapes, you can create a loop of the selected diameter at the current bending position in addition to the bending pin. This is very useful for corners, for example.

   

   You can use the following segment types to create specific bending shapes:

   • Bend: you can create bends using the bending angle specified. The program automatically changes the direction of the concrete cover for the following bar segment.
   • Crank: you can create cranked bars using the crank value. The direction of the concrete cover does not change.
   • Smooth: the bar segments are displayed as smooth outlines. This way, you can create U-shaped bars as loops, for example.
   • Arc: you can use arcs between the current and next point entered for the shell.
   • Click a point in the workspace. You can also use track lines.
   • Enter the coordinates of the end point in the dialog line.

     Note: You can only select a specific segment or bending type when Match edges is not active in the input options. This is indicated by .

     After you have entered a specific segment type or bending type, the program automatically switches to the standard segment with bending pin.

3. Specify the edges of more bar/mesh segments or match the edges.
4. If necessary, specify the lengths of the start and/or end segment(s) and then press ESC to finish entering points.
   

Notes:

• If a point entered is not within a 3D general arrangement drawing, you can neither use a view nor the Z coordinate box in the dialog line to enter another point outside the base plane.
• While defining the bar/mesh segments you can use the input options to
  change the position of the segment relative to the edge,
  match and, if necessary, modify the z coordinate of the 3D model in order to create a 3D bending shape and
  undo the individual segments you have entered.
• The exact bend and crank dimensions are not defined until the outline has been entered in its entirety and, if necessary, the view has been specified. The defined segment type cannot be changed later.
