Methods for placing fixtures

You can use the Methods for Placing Fixtures tool to place symbol fixtures along a polyline, which can even be a linear fixture itself. You can define parameters for this operation. The local x axis specified when you defined the symbol fixture always points in the direction of the path. In the case of wall fixtures, the plane defined by the local x and y axes coincides with the wall surface.

To place symbol fixtures along a polyline

1. Click Methods for Placing Fixtures (How).
   

   Activate Methods for Placing Fixtures in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Bonus Tools Fixtures

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Fixtures

2. Define parameters.
3. Click OK to confirm the dialog box and use the polyline entry tools to enter a polyline.
   

Note: You can use the Replace Fixtures tool to replace the symbol fixtures you have already placed or the selected linear fixture with other Allplan fixtures or manufacturer-specific fixtures.
