Warnings and messages in the log file
Errors and error messages while transferring DXF/DWG files
The list below contains the most commonly warnings and messages in the log file.
The file does not contain any elements
This error message can have several causes:
- The filters are set in such a way that no elements are being transferred. For example, if you cleared the Line option under Transfer elements in the Options dialog box, and the file being imported consists only of lines, then nothing is transferred. Check the filter setting.
- The file was created in paper space, but you have selected to import model space. Check the AutoCAD-specific settings in the Options. Please note that you can only import data from AutoCAD’s paper space to Allplan layouts. You can only select the space when you import data to documents. More information is provided in Importing to and exporting from AutoCAD's model space and paper space.
- The file contains frozen layers. Inform your partner office that frozen layers should not be transferred.
- The file was not created with pure AutoCAD but with an AutoCAD add-on. It only contains elements that cannot be analyzed by the interface.
- You are importing an HPGL file: The file being imported contains data in PCL and/or RTL code. However, Allplan's interface only supports pure HPGL and HPGL2 native. Discuss this with your data exchange partner in advance.
Bitmap areas cannot be exploded
This warning indicates that the exported document contains bitmap areas or a scanned image and you have enabled the Image option in the Explode elements area in the options. But scanned images and bitmap areas are only exported when they are not exploded. For more information, see Exporting bitmaps and scanned images.
Coordinates exceed 5,000m
This warning indicates that the imported file contains coordinates exceeding 5,000 m. These coordinates may cause problems. More information is provided in Importing files with large coordinates.
The document is not of the type indicated by its file name extension
This indicates that the file type does not match the contents of the file. This may occur when you rename a file manually (File.dxf is renamed File.dgn, for example).
