Services application, Service menu
This is a collection of utilities to assist you with solving any problems that may occur. The utilities were also designed to automate program and system service provided by Technical Support.
Choose the tool you want to use and click OK to confirm.
Note: Some of these tools should be used only if you know exactly how they work or while you are engaged in dialog with Technical Support.
cleanstd
Note: The cleanstd hotline tool should only be used in conjunction with cleanup.
This hotline tool resolves problems which may result from incorrect or inadvertent program settings.
It automatically changes all the settings you can make in the options or defaults of the individual program modules. The printer configuration, hatching and pattern settings as well as smart symbol definitions are not affected.
Overview of files deleted with cleanstd
Note: You can also delete individual files (defaults). To do this, choose No when you see the Would you like to reset all CAD settings? prompt.
Deleting these files resets all user-defined settings to the defaults provided with Allplan. Consequently, the Options may be different the next time you start the program.
laststd
You can use this hotline tool to restore the most recent setting of the default values. This way, you can also restore all the default values you have deleted using cleanstd.
savestd
You can use this hotline tool to save your current settings of the default values. You do not need to explicitly save the predefined program settings as you can use the cleanstd hotline tool to restore these values at any time.
reststd
If you have changed your settings or reset them using cleanstd, you can use this hotline tool to restore your original settings provided that you have saved them beforehand by means of savestd.
Note: Always check whether the CAD program works properly before you carry out reststd.
If a problem you have tried to solve using cleanstd occurs again after you have carried out reststd, select cleanstd again but do not run reststd afterwards. In this case, you need to adjust your original settings manually.
cleanreg
The cleanreg hotline tool finds and resets all (or a selection of) CAD-specific entries in the system registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER. You can also delete specific entries in the registry. To do this, choose No when you see the Would you like to reset all CAD settings? prompt.
lastreg
The lastreg hotline tool restores the most recent setting of the system registry. This way, you can also restore all the entries you have deleted from the registry using cleanreg.
savereg
The savereg hotline tool saves the current settings in the registry.
restreg
You can use the restreg hotline tool to restore the original settings in the registry, which have been reset or cleared by executing cleanreg. Please note that this is only possible if you saved these settings previously using the savereg hotline tool.
cleanup
This hotline tool initializes the display and solves problems caused by damaged graphics. You can use this tool without hesitation and you should apply it whenever there is a problem with your screen display. Typical usage: start logo is missing, toolbars are distorted, etc.
After you have carried out this hotline tool and restarted the CAD program, the private project opens automatically.
cleanprint
This hotline tool restores the printer default settings, if they have changed. The default for Windows drivers is the Windows default printer; for Allplan vector drivers, it is channel 1.
toolbar
You can use this hotline tool to restore the toolbars to their default positions and settings. The toolbars are reset whether or not you have saved them as default toolbar arrangements.
Important: toolbar deletes the current and all saved toolbar configurations (configurations saved in ubx-format files are not deleted). Carry out this hotline tool only when Technical Support advises you to do so.
reorg
You can use this hotline tool to re-organize selected projects; in other words, to recombine drawing files with their associated lists.
You can also restore corrupt or incomplete project administration files.
User local: re-creates the administration files for the local, empty project.
Named project: re-creates the administration files for the project you select. You need to select the drawing files again afterwards.
Restore project management file: re-creates the project overview file.
updprjattr
You can use this hotline tool to update the project attributes (not the CAD attributes!) of a project. Select this hotline tool after you have carried out reorg. This ensures that the project attributes are displayed correctly.
wopro
This hotline tool shows the path to the selected project and its file name or internal project number (depending on the setting).
listpro
This hotline tool shows the names of all the projects with information on the path and name or internal project number (depending on the setting). You can choose between screen output or output to file or printer.
datwainit
You can use this hotline tool to trigger data conversion the next time you start Allplan. This tool automatically converts data that has not yet been converted to the current version, e.g.:
datwaprjs
You can use this hotline tool to immediately convert the data of all projects.
ATTENTION!
Use this tool only if you have backed up your projects recently. Check that the backup can be read.
getenv
This hotline tools shows the Windows environment variables.
showcfg
This hotline tools shows the Nemetschek system variables.
showreg
This hotline tools shows the entries in the registry.
docsize
This tool enables you to adjust the amount of memory reserved for all the loaded documents to the hardware of your computer. The following applies: the higher the value, the slower your computer. Consequently, the value set for docsize should be as low as possible.
If you are working with a modern, fast computer with a lot of memory, you can increase the memory capacity for loaded documents in order to edit huge layouts. All entries are in MB.
Recommended:
Minimum hardware: document size of 64 MB
Standard hardware (Windows 32-bit): document size of 128 MB
Standard hardware (Windows 64-bit): document size of 200 MB
Above-average hardware (maximum for Windows 32-bit): document size of 256 MB
Very large volumes of data: document size of 512 MB
Note: A single document must not exceed 256 MB even if you have selected a document size of 512 MB. If this value is exceeded, Allplan will issue a message, prompting you to move some data to a different document.
Note: Allplan requires static RAM for the documents, which you can set here using docsize, and dynamic RAM for all other purposes. If you reserve too much virtual memory for static use, there may not be enough dynamic RAM. When running 32-bit systems in particular, you need to make sure that you divide the virtual memory to suit your computer and your own particular methods of working.
alltrace
This hotline tool only has an effect when Allplan logging (trace) is active (on the Service menu). In addition to all the actions carried out by the program, this hotline tool logs advanced messages that may help solve problems.
Please note that Allplan is much slower when Allplan logging (trace) is selected. Use this hotline tool only temporarily when Nemetschek’s Technical Support advises you to do so.
charttrace
This hotline tool only has an effect when Allplan logging (trace) is active (on the Service menu). In addition to all the actions carried out by the program, any function call in Allplan 2014 is documented in the stdmen.out file.
Please note that Allplan is slower when trace mode is active.
Entries are always added to the end of the stdmen.out file (even if you restart Allplan 2014 or the computer).
A new file is created every day.
Therefore this file always documents the current day only.
The first time you select charttrace, the stdmen.out file is created in ...\Users\Windows user name\AppData\Local\Temp.
surfupdate
You can use this hotline tool to update the surface files in projects. In particular, you should use this tool if you work with surfaces that are adjusted for Global Illumination in Allplan 2013 projects. These surfaces are no longer required in Allplan 2013-1.
Select one or more projects. Running surfupdate copies all files (*.surf and any associated textures) that are also in the STD\Design folder and that are newer in STD than in the project to the project. Before overwriting a file, the program makes a backup copy that has the same name and ends in *.bak.
remotesrv
This hotline tool is intended for remote maintenance based on instructions from Technical Support. This is required for some support services.
