Creating new definitions/objects during import

Note: Settings marked by a Allplan_SfS_Backup_Bitmaps in the dialog box should only be enabled when you actually need them!

Line type definitions

When Line type definitions is enabled, new Allplan line type definitions are created when importing files. Note that this may cause existing definitions to be overwritten. When the check box is disabled (empty), no new definitions are created; the line types in the imported file are assigned to the existing ones instead.

Hatching definitions

When Hatching definitions is activated, new hatching definitions can be created when importing.

Pattern definitions

When Pattern definitions is activated, new pattern definitions can be created when importing. Existing pattern definitions are not overwritten.

Layer plus definition

When this option is enabled, any missing layers are automatically created and added to the layer structure at import time. When this option is disabled, the import layers are simply assigned to existing layers.

Note: You can alter the assignments for individual layers when importing: click Modify and open the Layers tab.

Pattern lines as line type (also for export)

When Pattern lines as line type is enabled:

File names (replace)

If you activate this option, the name of the drawing files to which the data is written is replaced by the name of the imported file and the layer that was imported last.

The name is created based on the following principles:

Imported from: “file name“ layer name: “layer name of layer imported last“

When File names (replace) is deactivated, the drawing file names are retained.

Offer smart symbols from catalog

When this option is active, you can assign blocks directly to smart Allplan symbols when importing AutoCAD files. The program uses the smart symbol catalog specified for Offer smart symbol from catalog in the Import and export options (Allplan).

Write smart symbols to catalog

When you enable this option, smart symbols that are created when you import blocks from AutoCAD files are saved in a smart symbol catalog. The program uses the smart symbol catalog specified for Save smart symbol in catalog in the Import and export options (Allplan).
